Lemorton 1999 Domfrontais Calvados

This 1999 spent 23 years in oak and shows a red tinged amber in the glass. The nose opens with a gorgeous aroma set of poached pears, apple, dried leaves in fall, cinnamon, allspice, and vanilla. On the palate there is a touch of alcohol presence up front that gives way to a supple texture and complex flavors of red pears, maple, cinnamon, orange peel, delicate smoke, and pear compote. We let this sit in the glass and over the course of hours also found a wonderful nuttiness that emerged over time to our great delight. D&M Tasting Notes
