Vergers de la Moriniere 2002 Pays d'A'uge Calvados

 Harvest 2001 from which cider was made and distilled in 2002. The resulting spirit was initially aged in 400 liter barrels for 16 years. From there it was transferred to a small 215 liter barrel that many years ago had been bought by the Huberts from a vigneron friend in Cognac. In Charles Neal’s opinion, “the barrel’s small size helps add additional spicy complexity to its ample apple fruit, creating a unique sensory experience for the taster.
