Benriach The Smoky Twelve Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Three cask matured  Bourbon, Sherry and Marsala. Aromas of sultana raisin, salted caramel, peanuts, spice with a little campfire smoke. Nice texture to the round palate with salty peanut brittle and dried orange peel on the finish. D&M Tasting Notes

The Smoky Twelve is the perfect marriage of fruit, malt, oak and rich layers of smoke. Crafted from a combination of unpeated and peated spirit and three cask matured for at least twelve years in bourbon barrels, sherry casks, and Marsala wine casks. The whisky from each cask is then expertly married together to create a smooth, creamy single malt, multilayered with flavours of ripened fruit, aromatic smoky sweetness and warming oak spice.

Rachel Barrie started her 26 year career in whisky after graduating with a first class honours in chemistry from Edinburgh University. Her first experience of malt whisky began in the Garioch district in Aberdeenshire, where she was born and brought up to appreciate the nuances of the locally distilled malt whisky. Rachel is the Master Blender for The GlenDronach, BenRiach and Glenglassaugh distilleries.
