Salvatore Marino 2022 Turi Bianco

Salvatore got his start in wine while still a teenager-- he and his friends would open wine just to smell them. This is organically farmed in Sicily and made with the native Catarratto grape. The nose opens with forest floor, orange peel, tangerine, spice, and a light clay note. The palate is moderate in weight with orange peel, tangerine, blood orange and a bit of clay and black stone minerality to finish. D&M Tasting Notes

 The grapes are destemmed, macerated for five days then ferment with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is decanted and racked off its gross lees. It then ages in concrete until its bottled the spring following harvest.
