Raul Perez 2021 Ultreia St. Jacques

 This comes from multiple sites that are all over 80 years of age in Spain's Valtuille de Abajo; Mencia is the predominate varietal, but there is also notable amounts of Bastardo (Trousseau), Garnacha Tintorera (Alicante Bouschet), Palomino, Doña Blanca. The nose opens with soft red cherry, loamy turned earth, gentle spice, pepper, and a Espadin level of just there smoke. The palate is light and roughly equivelent to a Etna Rosso with flavors of black cherry, crushed rocks, pepper, and turned black soil. D&M Tasting Notes
