Maugeri 2022 Frontebosco Etna Bianco

Superiore Contrada Volpare. This is a quite new project from three sisters occasionally assisted by thier father from the Eastern flanks of Mount Etna. Here it is cooler and a bit wetter so Carricante is a perfect fit. This Frontebosco Contrada reminded me of Premier Cru White Burgundy on its first nosing. The nose is quite a thing of beauty with aromas of pear, honeydew melon, a kiss of oak, nectarine, savory herbs, and crushed rocks. The palate has a oily and rounded texture with a wonderful mix of citrus, salted melon, pear, just there oak and a savory saline minerality to finish. This simply wowed. D&M Tasting Notes
