El Molino 2020 Rutherford Chardonnay

The 2020 Chardonnay shows a brilliant pale gold in the glass. Complex but subtle aromas of lemon zest, grapefruit pith, cardamom, and almonds are lifted and enticing. The aromas draw you in searching for the added layers in the background of pineapple, sea salt, and key lime. The entry on the palate is round, lush, and expansive, all the while retaining tension and grip. Nutty, pear, and lime flavors are intense and interwoven. Lovely viscosity and texture complement the ripe flavors, leading to an intense, long, and persistent finish. This rendition is wonderfully complex and delicious now but will hold and improve for 10 years in your cellar if you have the patience!
