Lelarge Pugeot Tradition Brut Nature Champagne

The nose of this Grower Champagne opens with aromas of fresh risen dough, nectarines, yellow plums, cedar, pear, honeysuckle, and just there oak. The palate is moderate in weight with distinctly wine-like character and an ample flavor set of pear, lemon meringue, late season apple, and oak spice. This could use a handful of months to settle after its disgorgement, so try this in 2024 through 2030.  The bulk of this at 70% comes from the 2019 vintage, while the remaining 30% comes from 2017 and 2018. This cuvee was raised mostly in Stainless Steel with 30% being fermented in oak barrels of various sizes. After spending 24 months on its lees it was disgorged without the addition of dosage early in 2023.  Michael Kennel, D&M
