Gutierrez De La Vega 2013 Recondita Armonia

500ML. This dessert wine is made up entirely of Montrasell- Spain's name for Mourvedre. The nose shows a supple black fruit aroma set with light spice and a fruit basket of raspberry and black cherries. The palate has presence to it with ample black fruits, a touch of earth and spice with sweet plums on the finish. D&M Tasting Notes 

The nose is quite varietal Monastrell with freshness, mixing aromas of apricot with something earthy and tree bark-like notes that add some rusticity. This is clearly a lighter year, with less of everything (in general they are reducing their alcohol in their sweet reds); it feels more like a red wine, less sweet with noticeable tannins.
