Chateau Lanessan 2016 Haut Medoc

Classic Haut Medoc with pencil lead, peppercorn, dried cherry, cassis, some red plum, with a bit of gentle earth. The tannins are present but more the the dusty style. The palate opens with earth, tea leaf and pencil lead then resolves to anise and a bit of dried cherry and currants. D&M Tasting Notes

The 2016 Lanessan has come together nicely during aging. Tobacco, menthol, dried cherry, licorice and subtle earthy notes flesh out in this supple, expressive Haut-Médoc. The tannins could use a bit of time to soften, but the 2016 has a lot to offer. I won't be at all surprised if the 2016 blossoms into an even more complete wine.  Antonio Galloni, December 2018
