Stranahan's Store Pick Colorado Whiskey

Store Pick The D&M barrel shows aromas of coconut macaroon, caramel, spice cake, vanilla, honey, and clean cereal grains. The palate is delicate and focused with allspice, nougat, honey, a mixture of stone fruits and a light richness on the mid-palate from the barrel aging. D&M Tasting Notes

The process at Stranahan’s is simple straightford distilling that harkens back to production in the early days of Scotch. The ingredients are Rocky Mountain water, Colorado barley, and yeast; fermented on site, and distilled twice before being transferred to a new American White Oak barrel.

Most Stranahan’s is a blend of a two, four, and a six year old whiskies, but our barrel is different. The barrel we have for you was the 1139th barrel produced in 2012, making it born on around Valentine’s 2012.  Michael Kennel, D&M Wine Buyer
