Samuel Louis Smith 2022 Escolle Vineyard Gamay

This comes from a single vineyard at the northern end of the Santa Lucia Highlands. This is made 75% whole cluster and 25% Carbonic Maceration in old oak. The nose is a gorgeous thing with black cherry, raspberry, some spice and a bit of crushed rock minerality. The palate is just shy of moderate in weight with cherry, black raspberry, a hit of whole cluster spice and a balanced minerality. D&M Tasting Notes
