Matthieu Godmé--Guillaume V.V.V. Cuvee Brut Champagne

Based on the 2021 harvest, with the addition of 48% Reserve, this bottling is a blend of 74% Chardonnay, and 26% Pinot noir from the three villages (Verzenay, Verzy, & Villers-Marmery) that they have holdings in. In the cellar, most of the 2021 was aged in oak, with a small amount vinified in a tank for eight months. An additional note is that he followed biodynamic principles in the cellar with minimal interventions. The resulting cuvée spent a scant 16 months on the lees for freshness, and was disgorged with a dosage of 4 grams per liter. The nose opens with citrus, yellow apple, crisp asian pear, white peach, plantain, mixed spice, and a light hit of bois. On the palate the Chardonnay shines through with a salivary activating quality with cut lemon, orange peel, just there peach, sea salt, and a mix of bois and spice. - D&M TASTING NOTES
