Hans Reisetbauer Half Bottle Hazelnut Eau de Vie

This very much tastes of Hazelnuts, and the process that Reisetbauer goes through to get that flavor is quite involved. First they double distill a base of winter wheat before macerating Piedmontese Hazelnuts in the base spirit for 4-6 weeks. It is then run through a still a third time and rested in stainless steel for 3+ years. The nose shows a bit of cream and hazelnut with just there chocolate and citrus notes. The palate is precise and clean and the hazelnut character shines through. Not technically a eau de vie because of the maceration, but oh so good.  D&M Tasting Notes
