Grower Champagne. The nose of this lovely rose shows light stone fruits with raspberry, white minerals and a touch of strawberry. Egly-Ouriet produces, vinous, terroir expressive Champagne primarily from the great Grand Cru village of Ambonnay (the top village for Pinot Noir in Champagne), where he is widely regarded as the finest grower. Owner and winemaker Francis Egly farms old vine Pinot Noir and Chardonnay – 45 years  old on average – from some of the most prized and revered vineyards in all of Champagne. Because of the quality of the estate fruit and Francis’s commitment to incredibly low yields, dosage is kept very low (normally between 1-3 grams), adding to the intensity and character of the wines. Egly is a staunch believer that truly great Champagne must have extended lees aging, with some wines aged up to 9 years before disgorgement! It is clear the wines of Egly-Ouriet stand alone at the summit of intense, complex, and minerally precise Champagnes.
