Rossa Amara Caroni Rum Barrel Sicilian Liqueur

This is a quite excellent Sicilian Amaro to begin with that we feel was turned up to 11 with the addition of its time in an exceedingly rare Caroni Rum barrel for 12 months in a lava stone cellar at the foot of Mount Etna. The Sicilian Etna orange essence is still present in the nose but wonderfully joined by aromas of bitter chocolate, cinnamon, chicory and mixed herbs. The palate is simply divine and echoes the complexity of the nose with an additional suppleness of the time in oak. We sadly were only allocated two bottles- whoever picks this up is fortunate indeed. Single Cask 30% ABV. D&M Tasting Notes
