Michter's Original Small Batch Sour Mash Whiskey

A lot of grain and malt notes, with funnel cake, moderate richness, followed by spice creeping to the back end of the palette 50-50 rye and corn. D&M Tasting Notes 9/2019.

Bright topaz color: unblemished clarity. Right off the crack of the aromatic bat, there's a high concentration of caramel corn, corn meal and breakfast cereal flakes: Secondary sniffs encounter subtle notes of dried berries, citrus zest, maple and vanilla bean. Entry is silky smooth, beany (vanilla, cocoa) and brown sugar-like: the midpalate is creamed corn sweet, caramel-like and filled with baking spices, mostly all-spice, clove and nutmeg.
