Laurent Barth 2022 Alsace Gewürztraminer

Vin Moelleux. The Laurent Barth winery is located less than 10 kilometres north of Colmar. Laurent's parents always grew grapes and sold them to the local cooperative. In 1999, when Laurent came back from wine school in Beaune and several international internships, he took responsibility for the family’s vineyards. After all contracts with the cooperatives had been ended, the focus shifted to the production of their own wine. Their first wine came on the market in 2004. Currently, 25,000 bottles are produced per year.

The total area of the winery is quite fragmented. Its 4.5 hectares are spread over 27 different plots. Laurent also owns two grand cru vineyards: Schlossberg and Marckrain. All these plots are cultivated according to organic and/or biodynamic regulations. Importer Notes
