Heitlinger 2017 Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature Sparkling Wine

This comes from the south of Germany in the Baden and is wonderfully a project where Claus Burmeister planted Schwartzriesling (Pinot Meunier) and has followed a good amount of the playbook of the more new wave Grower Champagnes. In the fields this is farmed both organically and biodynamically, in the cellar this 2017 was first fermented in 70% Stainless Steel and 30% Oak, and the secondary fermentation in bottle was kicked off with the addition of juice of the harvest itself, and finally disgorged after four years on its lees without dosage. The nose opens with a basket of yellow plums and lemons nicely balanced by aromas of oak, nocino, clay and mixed citrus zests. The palate is moderate in weight with zippy acidity and a flavor set of citrus, plum and clay minerality as a wrapper. D&M Tasting Notes Disgorged: August 8, 2022
