This comes solely from the Del Barba ranch in the sandy soils in Contra Costa County, own rooted, and over a century old. It is a blend of 55% Zinfandel, 17% Mataro (Mourvedre) 17% Grenache, and 11% Carignane. The nose opens with a hit of dark cherry, a kiss of oak, cocoa, mixed spices (baking and culinary), earth, and some tart cranberry.
