Autreau 2016 Grand Cru Brut Champagne

The nose opens with aromas of lemon, buttercream, hazelnut, red apple, apricot, white stone minerality, and just there spice. The palate has a presence to it with flavors of apple lemon, and stone fruits nicely balanced by a core of chalky minerality and a just there bakeshop note to finish. D&M Tasting Notes

This 2016 Grand Cru, is made up of 50% each Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The Pinot Noir for this cuvee comes from the village of Aÿ in the Vallée de la Marne, while the Chardonnay comes from the village of Chouilly at the top of the Côte des Blancs on the other side of the Marne river three miles away as the crow flies. This Champagne was fermented and rested in stainless steel before being laid down on its lees for six years. It was finished with a dosage of 6 grams per liter. Michael Kennel. D&M
