Williamson 2015 9yr Single Cask Nation Single Malt Scotch

Briney sea spray, kombu, cut grass, and iodine take the lead on the nose, with a hint of zesty lemon lurking in the depths. The palate leads with a little overt more lemon presence, taking on a sort of salt-cured appearance rather than fresh off the tree. Alongside this you can find beautiful, saline and medicinal Islay peat notes and wet stone. As the flavor settles into the finish it lands on a sort of primordial expression of the pre-scientific four elements: earth, wind, water, and fire as it lingers and fades. –DI, February 2026

“This charmer called “Williamson” is from a South Shore Islay distillery whose name we can not divulge. The spirit was named after Bessie Williamson, Distillery Manager and Owner from 1954 to 1972. A wonderful way to honor women in whisky! The style of this cask is true to the distillery but far fruitier than the distillery normally bottles.
