Our Spirits Clubs

Here at D&M; we are passionate about Champagne, Single Malt Scotch whiskies and the fine brandies of France. To help make our passions a little easier on your (and our) pocketbook, we have come up with a number of different buying clubs. The purpose of these clubs is to explore these wonderful beverages, trying new things, and to save money. Look around these pages to see what we've offered in the past, and what is yet to come.

Your credit card will not be charged until your club items are mailed to you for that month.

American Whiskey Club

Learning Whiskey the American Way: The Bourbon Trail is Just the Beginning

American Whiskey is now decades into its Renaissance. When we began this club in 2010 there were 145 distilleries in America -- as of 2021 there were over 1400! We seek out unique expressions of American whiskeys that we find to be particularly delectable and buy a set for you all. The whiskey you receive in our club is meticulously taste-selected by our staff. By joining our club, you will receive 1-2 bottles a quarter of the best that American Whiskey has to offer - either for pickup here in San Francisco or shipped to you along with background material on the producer and our staff’s tasting notes on the product. Each shipment tops out at $125 ( Does not include tax and or shipping). So, whether you're looking to expand your bar beyond the widely available or are a collector of bottlings from producers big and small, we have what you desire. Armagnac Inner Circle

More Than Cognac's Rustic Cousin

The exalted liquid work of the French extends beyond their wines. France is rightly known for the alchemy of turning the bounty of fruit of the French countryside into ethereal spirits: Cognac, Armagnac and Calvados. Well known Cognac and its refined country cousin Armagnac are the distilled result of grapes, while Normandy’s Calvados is primarily made up of apples. Cognac is distilled twice for a prettier and higher toned spirit while Armagnac is distilled once for power on the front end with tremendous aging potential. Young Calvados shows the prettiness of the apple fruits while aged expressions pick up complex barrel and cellar notes.

Armagnac is dominated by small family farms and dedicated negociants, with excellent assemblage and vintage offerings to please the most hardened hearts. As a member of our Armagnac Inner Circle, you will receive a quarterly selection from our staff.  If you’re lucky enough to call San Francisco home, you can save on shipping by picking up your selection at our store on the corner of Fillmore and Sacramento or have it shipped to your home or office.  By participating in this group purchase you would be getting your brandy at a great price, as well -- as much as 15 to 40% off retail. The charge for the bottle, itself, is no more than $200 (Does not include tax and or shipping). Each shipment includes a fact sheet about the producer along with our own tasting notes. No initiation fees or fees of any sort, we simply ask that you undertake to remain in the club for the period of one year to learn about the fascinating world of these noble spirits.

Champagne Society

Let D&M be your guide to Champagne

D&M has focused on Champagne for over half a century and we have had the Champagne Society Club operating continuously for almost 30 years. We are fans of bubbles from a multitude of places, but still haven't found anywhere as consistently excellent as in Champagne -- a wine for celebrations both big and small. Every other month members receive a set of two or three bottles with background information on the families or producers, pairing matches, and our collective tasting notes. From the occasional bottle from the Large Champagne houses to the new wave of small houses and quite a few from the small family grower-producers, we enjoy them all. The cost of the Champagne set will not exceed $150, per shipment (does not include tax and or shipping) and can be picked up here in store or shipped to you. We ask that members commit to staying in the program for at least an year, though we have happy members that have been in the club for decades. Sign up today >

The King of French Brandy

Cognac being the largest region and producer of French Brandy, oftentimes gets lost among the larger brands owned by conglomerates, but there are many smaller family-owned, estate grown and distilled cognacs and that's where our heart is. As a member of our Cognac Inner Circle, you will receive a quarterly selection from our staff.
