"Opaque ruby-black in the glass, the 2022 Petite Syrah Hayne Vineyard is as poised and graceful as this variety can possibly be. The nose is driven by aromas of roasted plums, cassis and toasted coconut with dark spice-driven undertones. The palate is full-bodied, powerful and characteristically dense, offering a blocky, opaque fruit flavor that melds with an intriguing, perfumed, energetic lift. OVERVIEW: "The Hayne vineyard was planted to Petite Syrah back in 1953 when Otty Hayne was home from college visiting his grandfather. To this day the vines remain head-trained, dry-farmed, and organic and it's iconic reputation is just one of the reasons Turley has worked with it as long as they have. The wines see only natural yeasts in the fermentation process and are aged in 80% used French oak, with the remaining American. (15.3% ABV)"
