OVERVIEW: “The driest wine in the series, Charleston Sercial celebrates the refined, delicate Madeiras so prized by our forefathers. Like all classic Sercials, this bottling is crisp and racy, its very slight sweetness balanced by an exhilarating, mouthwatering tang of acidity. Sercial excels as an aperitif with nuts or olives, with soups, and with a host of mature, hard cheeses.”

WINEMAKING: “Sercial must is fermented to relative dryness and then brandy is added to stop fermentation and to achieve a final alcohol level between 17% and 20%. Aged in cask.”

COMPOSITION: “A blend of >85% Sercial with a portion of very old wines. Sercial is grown at high elevations and is generally the last variety to be harvested.”
