Selbach Oster Bomer Riesling Trocken 2023
This is sourced from the lower plots in the Grosses Gewächs, GG rated vineyard Schlossberg. Of note is that for a house known for their wines with balanced residual sugar, this has been made separately as a dry wine for years. The nose opens with aromas of delicate double cream, slate, spice, dried white flowers, and a just there citrus tone. On the palate there is a wonderful sense of texture with a mix of slate and wet stones that is nicely balanced by bright citrus and a lemon merengue pie note to finish. So very nicely done here. - D&M TASTING NOTES (MK, March 2026)
CRITICAL ACCLAIM:
"Pump up the volume! This dry riesling is extraordinarily structured and powerful for a Mosel wine, with great earthy complexity plus a wealth of citrus fruit and a touch of spring blossoms. Still quite tightly wound on the concentrated, compact, medium- to full-bodied palate, The very long and intense dark finish makes it clear that this is made for the long term and will greatly reward patience. Drinkable now, but best from 2027." - 97 PTS, JAMES SUCKLING (08/2024)
"The 2023 Riesling Bömer trocken, a single parcel in the lower reaches of the Schlossberg, has been made separately as a dry wine for years. Subtle oaky creaminess from four- and five-year-old Fuder is apparent on the gentle, smooth nose. The palate is bright, lemony, beautifully soothingly creamy and so fresh. This wine has beautiful depth with gentle lemony highlights that tingle on the finish, which seems lit by cool superbly bright sunlight. The finish is all lemon." - 95 PTS, ANTONIO GALLONI, VINOUS MEDIA
