Nana Vins VDF Rouge 'Konjo Fouzitou' 2024
(Owner/Winemaker: Nathalie Gaubicher)
D&M NOTES (01/2026):
OVERVIEW: First a bit about the name here: Konjo is the Japanese word for "guts" and fouzitou is slang for "throw it all in there". This is a way of stating that this a true mix of both white and red varietals grown organically- Cinsault, Carignan, Clairette, Terret, Grenache Blanc. The white grapes are destemmed and macerated with whole-clusters of the red grapes. Everything is then pressed and co-fermented with a native yeast and a small enough to carry the term natural 20 ppm of sulfur is added at bottling.
TASTING: In the glass this pours a translucent red with a lifted and quite pretty aroma set of strawberry, bing cherry, light spice and a whisper of minerality. The palate is light and crushable with the early season red berry fruits and light crushed rocks. A total chillable red candidate.
