Maitre de Chai Sauvignon Blanc Ellison 2024

This comes from the The Ellison Vineyard  which was planted in 1969. It is quite small at 1.5 acres and represents one of the oldest Sauvignon Blanc plantings in the whole of the US. Located on Sonoma Mountain,  this site is not tilled, no pesticides are used, and the vines are dry farmed by the winemakers themselves giving them some dirt under their fingernails. In the winery it was whole cluster pressed and fermented in old oak. The nose opens with quite pretty notes of guava, peach, some apricot, white flowers, and just there citrus notes. On the palate this has a nice sense of texture with stone fruits, citrus, light guava and a textural almond note to finish. - D&M TASTING NOTES (MK, 04/2026)

CRITICAL ACCLAIM:

“Soaring aromatics and soft, silky contours are immediately arresting. Orchard fruit, white flowers, spice and marzipan caress the palate. This is so distinctive.” - 94 PTS, ANTONIO GALLONI, VINOUS MEDIA
