Liquid Farm Rosé Santa Barbara County 2025

(100% Mourvedre)

The nose offers a light hit of peach flesh, strawberry and some light spice notes. The palate is light-bodied with medium acidity and echoes the aromatics and also has a great sense of texture. Lovely stuff! - D&M TASTING NOTES (04/2026)

DISTRIBUTOR NOTES:

OVERVIEW: “The Mourvédre comes from one very district parcel of the Vogelzang Vineyard in Happy Canyon. Due to the highly alkaline soils and own-rooted vines, the grapes in this parcel hardly go through veraison, yielding lightly pigmented fruit perfect for making rose. The wine is barrel fermented in neutral French oak and stainless barrels, then aged for 6 months in a combination of used and stainless barrels before bottling.”

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: "Liquid Farm makes Old-World inspired wines – Chardonnay and Pinot Noir – from selected sites in the cool growing regions of Sta Rita Hills and Santa Maria Valley. Jeff Nelson founded Liquid Farm in 2009, inspired by the wines he sold while representing top producers from Champagne and Burgundy. Jeff looks to replicate the typically lower alcohol and more terroir-driven characteristics of Old World wines by working with great vineyards such as Bentrock, La Rinconada, Rita’s Crown, Spear, and Bien Nacido. Winemaker James Sparks fully embraces the idea of letting the vintage and the terroir express themselves. The resulting wines are crisp, mineral-driven Chardonnays and bright, complex Pinot Noirs. Liquid Farm also produces an exceptional, distinctive Rosé of Mourvèdre, whose fruit is sourced from the Vogelzang vineyard in Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara. The name Liquid Farm comes from the goal of creating awareness about what happens above ground and below ground and tells the story of how both are inextricably linked to wine. "Wine is a product of the earth and the human touch. It is Liquid from Farming". On the label, the vintage is placed above the line, paying homage to that particular year's influence on the wine, while the AVA lies below, honoring the soil's unmistakable impact, which also ends up in the glass."
