The Distillery

Kilkerran is the single malt produced at Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown — one of Scotland's smallest and most storied whisky regions. Glengyle was reopened in 2004 by J&A Mitchell & Co. (the family behind Springbank), making it one of only three working distilleries in Campbeltown. The spirit is known for its distinctly "Campbeltown" character: coastal, oily, earthy, and lightly peated with a characteristic funkiness that sets it apart from Speyside or Highland malts.

The Release

The Kilkerran 8 Year Old Cask Strength is part of their limited core range, released annually as either a one or two-part release. Previous releases have included full maturations in Bourbon, Port, and Sherry casks, with the latest releases fully matured in Bourbon. Each batch is non-chill filtered and bottled at natural cask strength, making every annual release a slightly different experience. It has become one of the most eagerly anticipated annual releases in the whisky world — consistently selling out quickly.
