TASTING: “With a rich and intense nose of ripe red fruits, combined with concentrated floral aromas of violets and minty eucalyptus. On the palate showing a full-bodied structure, bold tannins, and a long and intense fruit finish.”

"The 1983, like most vintage ports, seems more forward than normal but has a great depth of very ripe, viscous, unctuous, plummy, tarry fruit and significant tannin in its long finish. It is black-purple in color.
