Carrette Pouilly-Fuisse 1er Cru Les Crays MAGNUM 2023

To situate ourselves in Pouilly Fuisse, this is located on the higher slopes of the Roche de Vergisson-- one of two ancient reefs that mark the dramatic landscape of Vergisson. This Premier Cru site,  ‘Les Crays,’ translates to The Chalks and is steeply sloped limestone scree facing south. This producer is in their forth generation and has recently obtained organic certification. They utilize large old oak barrels in the cellar and aim for freshness over fat in their wines. This impressed with a bright and clean personality with a bit of lifted aromas of just there oak, a bit of citrus and a light kiss of golden apple, all atop a core of minerality. On the palate this has a pretty and balanced flavor set of a oak, citrus, white wet stones, and a bit of a mixed set of orchard fruits. MK D&M Tasting Notes Oct 2026
