Le Pere Jules Pommeau de Normandie

IMPORTER NOTES:

TASTING: “Bright mahogany color in the glass. The nose is powerful and refined, with nuances of plum, crystallized citrus fruits opening out to aromas of nuts (almond and hazel). The palate is supple and has a gentle attack, with aromas of tarte tatin with hints of grilled hazelnut. (17% ABV)”

FOOD PAIRING: “Perfect as an aperitif or with foie gras, melon and desserts. Can also be used in cooking for deglazing for scallops or white meats.”

PRODUCTION: "Blends apple must and Calvados aged for a year, followed by a minimum 5-year maturation in oak barrels, yielding a harmonious taste. The apple must is carefully crafted from selected orchards, with each apple variety harvested separately and pressed into juice from October onwards. (Apple varieties: Mettais, Rambaud, Domaine, & Frequin)”

ORCHARDS: “Le Père Jules uses only apples from their own estate. Among the 250 acres, 100 are dedicated to apple orchards. They stick to organic practices and allow their 100 cows to roam freely, contributing natural fertilizer. The apples are hand-harvested, and the pommeau, crafted without pasteurization and with minimal filtration, stands out as one of Normandy’s finest.”
