Dudognon Reserve Cognac
D&M NOTES:
TASTING - A more natural Cognac where the only addition is water. The nose is more to the age of fruit and flowers with aromas of vanilla, citrus, stone fruits, spice, white flowers, and honey. The palate has a brightness to it that echoes the nose with citrus and stone fruits, light barrel notes.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER: The family history of the Dudognon family is tied to the heart of Grande Champagne where they began growing grapes in the small village of Lignieres-Sonneville in 1776. Over the ensuing centuries and decades, the property has been passed down from generation to generation and In 1946, it was Raymond Dudognon who took over from his father and distilled the first Cognacs of his own under the family name. At the end of the 1990s, Raymond retired and his daughter Claudine took over as his distilling successor, inheriting the knowledge he had accumulated during more than half a century. Today, she and her husband manage the domaine as staunch traditionalists who distill only the grapes grown on their 26 acre property using no chemicals in their viticulture and no additives in their production other than water.
