J. Vignier Ora Alba Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Champagne

Extra Brut. Drawn from older vine family owned parcels in the Grand Cru villages of Oiry, Cramant, and Chouilly, all atop predominately chalk soils, with some marl and clay. It is composed of 50% 2016 vintage and 25% each 2013 and 2014. It was initially fermented in stainless steel before spending six years on its lees and then disgorged with a dosage of 5 grams per liter. The nose opens with aromas of lemon, ginger, winter pomeroy apples, white flowers, marzipan, and a wet stone minerality. The palate is just shy of moderate in weight with a wonderful sense of presence and a flavor set of lemon, honeysuckle, ginger and a just there bakeshop note.
