Henriet Bazin Arsene Extra Brut Champagne 2015

This is a Grand Cru vintage Champagne 2015 that is drawn from three parcels in Verzenay and Verzy that are all grown atop chalky soils. It is a blend of 70% Pinot Noi and 30% Chardonnay that was aged on its gross lees for 9 months in enamel lined tanks before spending six years on its fine lees in bottle, before being disgorged with a dosage of 5 grams per liter. The nose opens with a broad sense of pastries, apricot, toast and citrus. The palate isn't too overly rich yet retains the presence that comes from Pinot Noir with flavors of stone fruits, citrus and toast all wrapped up in a chalky minerality.
