Four Roses SN 48-2 J OESO 56% - D&M Barrel

D&M STAFF NOTES (01/2026)

TASTING: This is a barrel strength Four Roses that comes in at 56% ABV. The first nosing of the bottle upon opening starts with the aromas of an old bookstore, and with air in the bottle (next day) we picked up more aromas of cracker jacks. dried cranberries, toffee pudding, vanilla, cherry and orange peel. On the palate this has a presence that is unpacked with a splash of water. The flavors that come up are a mix of leather, sarsaparilla, coffee candies, and dried cherries.

OVERVIEW: For the geeks amongst us this was aged for 10 Years and 3 months, with a final ABV of 56% ABV. Four Roses has made their ten ‘recipes’ a foundation of their single barrel offerings, and this D&M barrel is the OESO: 75% Corn, 20% Rye, and 5% Malted Barley.
