Spider Chase 2016 Magnum Cabernet Sauvignon

1.5 Liters  Now listed as Cabernet Sauvignon (75% of the vineyard is planted to Cab), this still has Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cab Franc. The nose shows a great mix of menthol, cocoa nib, pepper, cassis, blackberry, and milk chocolate. The palate is present but remarkably balanced with cassis, cocoa, blueberry, and a light suggestion of oak barrel spice. This is pretty much a baby Peter Michael. D&M Tasting Notes

Waterhorse Ridge Vineyard-Seaview. The warm 2016 growing season made for an excellent vintage at Waterhorse Ridge Vineyard in Fort Ross-Seaview. This resulted in a wine with great depth of flavor, power and finesse. Classic notes of fresh herbs, black cherry and pencil lead permeate the note. On the palate the wine is medium-full bodied with flavors of black olive, tobacco and cassis and a lovely plush texture. The wine finishes with fine tannins and good acidity. We feel that the 2016 Spider Chase Cabernet Sauvignon is drinking great now but is also an excellent candidate for the cellar. Wine Maker Notes.
