South Georgia, Single Barrel Select. First aged in New American White Oak, then finished in oak cask that held Double IPA. The nose has aromas of dusty Rickhouse, dry rye husk with a high tone of red fruits and small whiff of hops. The palate is caramel, vanilla with cherry fruits, balanced with notes of evergreen and herbs finishing with the Agricole funk. D&M Tasting Notes
Cask #80, 43% ABV
Richland Single Estate Old South Georgia Terrapin Double IPA Single Barrel rum, a limited release of Old Georgia Rum that’s been through a collaborative aging process. For the first three years, it’s aged the usual way in new American white oak barrels. Then, those barrels are emptied and sent to Terrapin Brewing Company, where they’re used to age a Double India Pale Ale for a year. When the DIPA is finished, the barrels are sent back to Richland and the Old Georgia Rum is added back into the barrels for another year before it’s bottled from single barrels at 86 proof.
Richland Distilling Company began in 1999 on the farm at Richland Estate where sugarcane is grown for the sole purpose of making Richland Rum. Twenty years later, with two distilleries in Richland & Brunswick, Georgia, and multiple award winning rum expressions, Richland Rum is setting the standard for top quality rum making around the world.
