Blanc de Blancs. 1er Cru. Entirely made up of Chardonnay from the 2001 harvest this is a lighter and more taunt vintage Champagne versus what we experienced in 1998 and 2002. The nose shows a leesy and cheesy set up front that gives way to pineapple and light citrus. The palate is decidedly lighter than the 2002 that followed it with a cool crisp chalky minerality and light citrus. D&M Tasting Notes
The Domaine des Conardins extends across 24 hectares of Champagne appelation Vineyards located on the most coveted slopes of Epernay and the Côte des Blancs.
The vineyards are planted with the three Champagne grape varieties: *Pinot Meunier *Chardonnay * Pinot Noir. The vineyards produce approximately 230 000 bottles annually.
Thanks to its structure, vineyards, and production capacity, the Domaine des Conardins is among the best middle-sized properties (after the large well-known Champagne houses), and seeks to satisfy its customers, who are both friends and connoisseurs, by the quality of its products.
RM or récoltant-manipulant. Driven by passion for their product, these producers bottle and sell their wines under their own labels. There is a potential for high quality combined with good value, and wines that might reflect the terroir of small plots of land rather than standardized blends. R stands for Récoltant ( the literal translation is "Harvester") M stands for Manipulant ( literally "Handler") These "grower" champagnes account for just under 3 percent of the total market.
