Our D&M Three Pack of Store Picks

As you might expect, we select a large number of barrels for our various clubs each year. We attempt to make every selection a home-run for our club members, but sometimes the products we love most are not the most expected: Blanton's, Weller, Old Forester. With that said, we have a 3-pack selection of staff favorites that are sure to please the discerning palate of adventure seekers. Those that don't grimace at the thought of American-Made Single-Malt, a Whiskey distilled from Bear Republic's Big Bear Stout, or a five-year-old bourbon selected from the stocks of our favorite barrel pickers at Smooth Ambler.

Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey (D&M Store Pick): The D&M barrel shows aromas of coconut macaroon, caramel, spice cake, vanilla, honey, and clean cereal grains. The palate is delicate and focused with allspice, nougat, honey, a mixture of stone fruits and a light richness on the mid-palate from the barrel aging.

Charbay Barrel Select American Whiskey (D&M Store Pick): This shows aromas of sweet malt, dried stone fruits, candied orange peel, cardamom, thyme, and cinnamon on toast. The palate has a sweet spice combo with dark bread, wood, chocolate, orange, cardamom and vanilla.

Smooth Ambler Old Scout Straight Bourbon Whiskey (D&M Store Pick): Distilled on October 17th we dubbed our single barrel M&K's Anniversary bottles (store owners Mike & Karen's wedding date). This bottle is 5 years old (they have been married for 30 years) and has wonderful aromas of caramel corn, funnel cake and citrus zest. There is a great rick-house note and allspice as well. The palate is round and rich with caramel corn, brown butter and grilled stone fruits. Black peppercorn and candied-citrus finishes this beauty off. A wonderful tribute.
