• Le Clos du Caillou 2016 Cotes du Rhone

This is an old vine blend of 92% Grenache and 8% Mourvedre. The nose remains full of soft and plush black fruits with forward cherry, bramble, forest floor, and crushed stones. The palate is moderate in weight with medium acid and a flavor set of full black fruits balanced by some pepper and garrigue. Lovely! D&M Tasting Notes

Aromas of garrigue (wild thyme, lavender and rosemary). Flavors of raspberry and black cherry. 85% Grenachhe, 8% Syrah, 5% Carignan, 2% Mourvedre.

The estate has been practicing biodynamic viticulture since 2003, and was certified organic in 2010. Caillou’s devotion to the character of the land (through bottling wines according to terroir) and its dedication to natural viticulture has only intensified over the years; this is what makes Caillou one of the leading estates in the southern Rhône.
