• La Staffa 2015 Verdicchio Riserva Rincrocca

This is a single vineyard Verdicchio that was planted in 1972 and is farmed organically. Aged in concrete tanks on its lees for 12 months this has a great texture to it. The nose shows minerals, lime zest, just there stone fruits and a light saline note. The palate is moderate in weight with apricots and orange zest. D&M Tasting Notes

Luminous straw-yellow. Complex, wild aromas of apricots macerated in alcohol, orange marmalade, marzipan and honey are joined on the palate by orange zest and limoncello. Bracing acidity cuts the wine's honeyed richness and keeps this light and lively on the palate, avoiding any undue weight. In need of a couple more years of cellaring from today to show its best, but this is a beauty. 92+ Points Ian D'Agata

Organic/Bio A mouthful of a name for an outstanding mouthful of wine. The wine is named for, and come s from, a hillside vineyard planted in 1970 and farmed organically by young Riccardo Baldi. The super-concentrated fruit is fermented in concrete tanks and then aged in concrete on the fine lees for a full year before bottling. The aromas and flavors are more richly mellow than the “regular” Verdicchio, but still brilliantly fresh and pure. And the finish is explosive, compelling, and very long. Worthy of complex seafood dishes but also a delight on its own now – 2022. Importer Notes
