Kuenhof Kaiton 2020 Alto Adige Riesling

This is not too far from the border with Austria and in spite of the valley ownership change following WWI, this looks more to the winemaking traditions of Austria versus Italy. The family has been fortunate and precise about forgoing the use of both sulfur and copper in the vineyards and the wine is fermented naturally in the clean cellar in a combination of stainless steel and acacia. The nose of this cuvee shows lime zest, petrol, and a core of minerality. The palate is light in weight with quite zippy acid and a 'Germanic' flavor set of wet stones, lime zest, a savory/ saline note, and a bit of a petrol note. Quite zippy and clean for sure.
