Sainte Claire. Fermented and aged in stainless steel is is a taunt, mineral and a bit reductive Old Vine cuvee that benefits from a brief decant. The nose shows a steely stony minerality with just there honeysuckle, lemon oil and pineapple. The palate shows more texture and ripeness with a good mix of pineapple and lemon oil bound up by slate and chalky minerality. D&M Tasting Notes
Epitomizing the domaine, the Vieilles Vignes de Jean-Marc Brocard (Jean-Marc Brocard’s Old Vines) were planted around 70 year ago. Their roots reach down over 25 meters into Kimmeridgian soil. The wines, which are more concentrated, express all the complexity and finesse of the Chardonnay grape.
