Sainte Claire. This is truly old vine Chablis with an average age of 70 year old plants punching through the chalky Kimmeridgian soil. The nose shows savory minerality, just there oyster shell, grapefruit and lime with wet river stones. The palate is similarly light with a kiss of butterscotch and light citrus. D&M Tasting Notes
Epitomizing the domaine, the Vieilles Vignes de Jean-Marc Brocard (Jean-Marc Brocard’s Old Vines) were planted around 70 year ago. Their roots reach down over 25 meters into Kimmeridgian soil. The wines, which are more concentrated, express all the complexity and finesse of the Chardonnay grape.
