Holiday Champagne Six Pack Gift Box

This year's holiday six pack is based around a trio of Grower Champagne. France has a almost mythic respect for the idea of working the land, and all of these are from growers that have worked the land for centuries. The six pack includes 2 bottles of each.

Michel Jacquot Brut Champagne -Entirely Pinot Noir. Half of this is from the 2018 harvest with 40% from the warm 2017 vintage and the remainder coming from the Gaucher family’s perpetual reserve. It was kept on its lees for 24 months before being disgorged with a dosage of 8 grams per liter. This possesses a clean and focused nose with cream, mint, apple, citrus and a just there hazelnut character that emerges with air. The palate is precise and balanced with apple, mascarpone, and just there citrus notes to finish. This is best enjoyed in the near term through 2025. With its freshness and precision this will work quite well as an aperitif or with a starter that perhaps has been fried. D&M Tasting Notes

Guillaume is in his early 30s and following his return to the family estate in 2016-2017, he has pushed the family toward the widespread usage of organics, and they began the process of being certified as organic in 2020. The 47 acres of vineyards are mostly planted to Pinot Noir with a small amount of Chardonnay as well.

Guy de Forez Rose de Riceys Brut Champagne - The nose shows deep aromas of cherry, strawberry, cranberry, orange peel, and earth / forest floor notes. The palate has a presence to it with deep fruits balanced by earth and forest floor that nicely linger on the palate. Still Rose de Riceys is known to keep for decades, but as one of our colleagues stated: she wants to have this for Thanksgiving dinner. D&M Tasting Notes

Guy De Forez, family growers founded in the 1950s that own 25 acres of vines in the Aube region of Southern Champagne. They care not just for their vines but the land on which they are grown, and they have been on the forefront of sustainable winegrowing in the region. Their fermentation is done in stainless steel with them hand riddling the bottles before disgorgement.

Diebolt - Vallois Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne - The nose shows the focused and precise nature we love with Blanc de Blancs with an aroma set of savory minerality, light oyster shell, lemon oil, white raspberry, and the lightest suggestion of cream. The palate is light, clean, and focused with a rainwater aspect to the minerality with just there citrus and white raspberries. D&M Tasting Notes

The Diebolt-Vallois families can trace their winemaking history back to the 1500s. The namesake Diebolt Vallois came into being with Jacques and Nadia hanging out their proverbial shingle in Cramant in 1959. The elder generation has largely handed the reigns to their children Arnaud and Isabelle. Isabelle is married to Jean-Paul Hébrart, so this is very much a family tied to the expression of grower Champagne.
