Francois Chidaine 2019 Les Argiles

 Old Vine Chenin Blanc Biodynamically farmed in Vouvray. This is a touch natural in the nose vs the 2018 which leaned more straight laced. The nose shows a high tone of apricot with more base notes of beeswax and a light oak spice note. The palate is just shy of moderate in weight with a precise palate of citrus, nectarine and beeswax with a touch of Residual Sugar. D&M Tasting Notes

Apparently there was a little known rule in Vouvray that requires wines from the appellation to be aged entirely in the village. Currently Chidaine along with another well known Montlouis producer are in legal proceedings to have the appellation status reinstated for their Vouvray wines. Beginning in 2014, this wine is bottled without the appellation, but is very much the same wine that we have come to know and love from this fine estate. Importer Notes 13% ABV
