Denis Chaput Mesogee Brut Champagne

This Grower cuvee, Mésogée MV, is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir, and 30% Chardonnay; 75% comes from the 2017 vintage with 20% from 2015, and finally 5% from 2014. After spending 50 months on its lees, it was disgorged with a dosage of 8 grams per liter. The nose here opens with marzipan and golden apple, then additional notes of lemon oil, and yellow fruits waft from the glass. The palate is moderate in weight with apple galette, almond paste, and just-there cream notes. This is delightful now, but will easily last though 2030. In the cellar, the plots are vinified separately in small stainless steel vats with a few concrete eggs as well. D&M Tasting Notes
