Darroze 1997 Domaine De Rieston Bas Armagnac

100% Baco. This is a rich and present style with dried fruits and a bit of sweet maple, leather, cardamom, fig, and dried raisin, and blond tobacco. On the palate this is a full and textured mouthfeel with dried apricot, new leather, brown sugar and dried plums .D&M Tasting Notes

Rieston. Here the farmer is Jean Luc Deyres who farms 6 acres of vines planted to a combination of Baco, Ugni Blanc, Colombard, and Folle Blanche atop sandy soils. (At the time of this brandy’s beginning, the vineyard was planted entirely to Baco 22A.)  Over the 24 years that this spent in contact with oak, it dropped from the initial 53% ABV to 49%.  Michael Kennel, D&M
